You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

CostaRicaBoard provides:

• a directory of businesses and professionals in Costa Rica
• guides, calculators, and relocation tools
• account registration and authentication
• listing claim workflows
• paid subscription features for enhanced listings
• dashboard tools for approved listing owners

We may update, suspend, remove, or modify parts of the Services at any time.

The Services are provided for general informational purposes only. Nothing on CostaRicaBoard constitutes legal, tax, immigration, accounting, real estate, investment, medical, or financial advice.

You are responsible for verifying important information directly with qualified professionals and official government sources before acting on it.

To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

• provide accurate and current information
• keep your login credentials confidential
• promptly update your information if it changes
• accept responsibility for activity under your account

You may not impersonate another person, share account access in an unauthorized way, or attempt to access accounts you do not own.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create security, fraud, or abuse risks.

CostaRicaBoard may display business listing information, including business name, category, location, public contact information, and other listing-related content.

Listings may come from business owners, editorial research, public sources, platform workflows, or a combination of those sources.

We do not guarantee that every listing is complete, current, accurate, licensed, insured, available, or appropriate for your needs. Users must perform their own diligence before hiring, contacting, or paying any listed business.

If you claim a business listing, you represent and warrant that:

• you own the business, or
• you are authorized to act on behalf of the business

By claiming a listing, you agree that we may verify your claim and request supporting information. We may approve, reject, delay, revoke, or reverse a claim at our discretion if ownership is disputed, evidence is insufficient, or misuse is suspected.

A successful claim does not give you ownership of the platform, the site, or CostaRicaBoard intellectual property. It gives you limited access to manage the permitted parts of your business profile.

You may submit information through forms, profiles, dashboards, support requests, and listing updates, including:

• business descriptions
• website URLs
• phone numbers
• WhatsApp numbers
• expat specialization text
• English-spoken status
• other profile details

You are solely responsible for the content you submit. You agree not to submit content that is false, misleading, unlawful, defamatory, infringing, harassing, abusive, spammy, or otherwise harmful.

By submitting content, you grant CostaRicaBoard a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, publish, display, adapt, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the Services.

We may remove, edit, reject, or moderate content at our discretion.

Some features may require payment, including featured listing subscriptions and related upgrades.

If you purchase a recurring subscription:

• you authorize recurring charges to your selected payment method
• billing may continue until you cancel
• pricing, billing interval, and included features will be presented at checkout
• payment processing is handled by Stripe or another payment provider, not directly by CostaRicaBoard

Your subscription status may affect listing visibility, badges, promotional placement, or access to dashboard features.

We may change pricing, packaging, or subscription features in the future. If required, changes will apply after notice and on a forward-looking basis.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the dashboard, by contacting us, or through the billing flow we make available.

Unless stated otherwise at checkout, cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not retroactively refund charges already processed. After cancellation or non-payment, your listing may revert from a paid or featured tier to a free tier.

If Stripe or another provider reports a canceled subscription, failed payment, chargeback, or payment dispute, we may downgrade or suspend the related listing features.

Except where required by law, fees are generally non-refundable once charged.

If you believe you were billed in error, contact us at hello@costaricaboard.com. We may review refund requests case by case, but we are not obligated to grant them unless required by law or stated in a specific offer.

You agree not to:

• violate any law or regulation
• misuse the Services or interfere with their operation
• scrape, copy, mirror, or exploit the site without authorization
• reverse engineer or attempt to access restricted systems
• submit fraudulent claim requests
• upload malware or malicious code
• use bots to abuse forms, accounts, or search functionality
• impersonate a person or business
• post false, deceptive, or defamatory information
• use the site to spam, harass, or mislead others

The Services, including site design, branding, text, graphics, layout, software, and original content created by CostaRicaBoard, are owned by CostaRicaBoard or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Services or CostaRicaBoard content, except for the limited right to use the Services in accordance with these Terms.

The Services may include links to third-party websites, payment processors, maps, embedded tools, or external services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, policies, content, or practices.

Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms and policies.

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CostaRicaBoard disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted access.

We do not guarantee that:

• the Services will always be available or error-free
• listings will be accurate or current
• tools or calculators will be free from mistakes
• any business will respond, perform, or deliver satisfactory services
• any page will rank in search engines or AI search products

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CostaRicaBoard and its operators, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, business opportunity, or business interruption arising out of or related to the Services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of:

• the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or
• $100 USD

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CostaRicaBoard and its operators, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to:

• your use of the Services
• your content
• your claim to a listing
• your violation of these Terms
• your violation of any law or third-party rights

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk, or misused the platform.

You may stop using the Services at any time.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, billing obligations, and dispute-related terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services shall be brought in the appropriate courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, unless applicable law requires a different forum.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
